Consistency becomes especially important for a visually impaired rabbit: keeping their litter box, food bowl, water source and hideouts in exactly the same spots lets them build a reliable mental map of their space, so it’s best to avoid rearranging their cage or enclosure once they’ve settled in.

Verbal cues also help a lot — speaking gently before you touch them, rather than reaching in silently, gives them a moment to register your presence rather than being startled. Textured mats or rugs placed at key points (near food, near a favourite resting spot) can also serve as tactile landmarks that help them navigate confidently.
